Last week, the Dallas City Council approved a $120 million
property tax increase for the upcoming fiscal year as part of a
$4.63 billion budget. This news is a nightmare for Dallas
residents and business owners, who will shoulder the burden of
this out-of-control spending.

Meanwhile, right next door, Republican Party of Texas-endorsed
County Judge Tim O'Hare led Tarrant County to approve a lean
budget, reducing their spending by $8.1 million and achieving the
county's lowest property tax rate in at least a decade.

announced his decision to switch to the Republican Party. Mayor
Johnson had fought hard to lower property taxes in Dallas but the
City Council disagreed. He made the decision to leave the
Democratic Party because its leftist policies are to blame for
the rampant crime and homelessness we see in major cities, and
that Mayor Johnson has worked to address in Dallas.
