Hello John,
My name is Kyrstin Schuette, and I am the Executive Director of the
School Board Integrity Project. We are a 501c4 non-profit organization focused on recruiting, training, and retaining school board candidates who align with our shared principles of
integrity, respect, excellence, belonging, and trust.
I know those may seem like incredibly simple principles for school board members to embody, but unfortunately there is a concerted national effort to take over our school boards, erode trust, and dismantle our public education systems. That effort has made its way here to Minnesota.
Conservative organizations are working right here in our backyards spending time and money recruiting and training candidates who want to ban books, rewrite our history, and make our schools less welcoming for students who are different and right now they are winning.
That is why we officially launched
the School Board Integrity Project this summer. We knew that we needed to mount an effort worthy of this moment that
represents the majority of Minnesotan's values and not let a very vocal minority be the only voice in the conversation.
Since then, we have been hard at work on the ground in communities. We have trained more than 60 candidates from 14 different school districts and have engaged more than 150 volunteers across the state who understand the fight we are up against and what is at stake for Minnesota's students if we continue to stand idly by while the pillars of our education systems are stripped away.
