Last week, we announced that Pennsylvania is officially an automatic voter registration state. It’s a commonsense change that will help tens of thousands of Pennsylvanians make their voice heard – no matter who you choose to vote for or what your views are.

Donald Trump, apparently, has a problem with that. He’s already attacking me and automatic voter registration, accusing me and other Democrats of a conspiracy to steal the 2024 election in Pennsylvania.

But he can’t change the facts: automatic voter registration actually makes our voter rolls more secure, saves taxpayers money, and helps make sure every legal, eligible voter can make their voice heard. That’s why bipartisan states like West Virginia, Florida, and Georgia have implemented it, too.

John, you and I both know this is more of the same baseless nonsense that Trump’s been peddling ever since he lost Pennsylvania in 2020. But you can bet he’s going to whip his fellow election deniers into a frenzy over our efforts to expand voting access, and we need to be prepared to protect our progress.

Automatic voter registration is a critical part of our effort to safeguard our democracy, secure our elections, and ensure every legal and eligible Pennsylvanian’s right to vote.
