"Before, coffee used to grow at 1,000 meters above sea level. Now, it’s not there."

Edgar Meneses Munoz is the manager of a Mercy Corps-supported coffee cooperative in Colombia. He sees how climate change has altered the coffee industry over the years, resulting in less and less production.

Your gift to Mercy Corps can help communities, like Edgar’s, where climate change and conflict are threatening lives and livelihoods.

Plus, your gift helps us to go 5X as far, when every $1 you give is combined with $4 we’ve raised in public grants. Will you make a gift today to help communities grappling with the effects of climate change and conflict?
$7 joins $28

$12 joins $48

Libia sells her coffee to the local cooperative. "It’s important to protect our land because that’s our water, our environment, our health, our food: the most essential things to human life," she shares.
Caficauca, the local coffee cooperative, works with about 50 percent of growers in the region and has 35 purchasing centers to buy coffee from farmers. With Mercy Corps’ support, the co-op teaches farmers practices like solid waste collection to avoid water contamination, and tree planting for carbon capture. This is one example of how Mercy Corps is working at the frontlines of climate change to help communities develop new sustainable practices.

For the past five years, Mercy Corps has been able to raise an average of $4 in public grants compared to every $1 in individual gifts. Will you help make a difference for people facing the effects of conflict and climate change — and help our work go 5X as far — by making your first gift today?
