   John, you have
probably heard about the allegations against Senator Bob Menendez. A
lengthy and detailed indictment lays out charges of bribery and of corrupt
foreign dealings against the Senator from New Jersey.
Senator Menendez is entitled to the presumption of innocence under our
system, but he is not entitled to continue to wield influence over
national policy, especially given the serious and specific nature of the
   allegations.
He should choose an honorable exit and resign.
As of right now, it seems as if my colleague is refusing to step down and
is continuing to campaign for re-election. But a serious primary
challenger, Representative Andy Kim, has announced he'll run against Bob
   Menendez.
[ [link removed] ]So I'm writing this to you today with an unusual request. I'm asking if
you'll split a donation between our campaign and Andy Kim. Will you chip
   in today?
This request isn't a traditional political endorsement. I want to be clear
   — I am not endorsing Andy Kim or anyone right now. But I am committed to
ensuring that Senator Menendez has a rigorous primary opponent in case he
makes the ill-advised decision to continue running for re-election, for
the sake of the people he represents.
We have to root out corruption from our political system, no matter what
   party these allegations are against.
[ [link removed] ]That's why I'm hoping that you split a donation between me and Andy Kim
today, because our neighbors in New Jersey deserve a Senator they can
trust and believe has the best interests of their constituents as their
   priority on Capitol Hill.

   Thanks for your support,
   John.
