Frank Washington Appointed as New Chairman of OCA’s Business Advisory Council
As the new Chairman, Frank Washington will guide and support nearly 25 leading U.S. corporations in advancing the interests of the Asian-American community.
Washington, D.C. — OCA - Asian Pacific American Advocates is pleased to announce that Frank Washington has been named the next Chairman of OCA’s Business Advisory Council (BAC), starting from October 1, 2023. Mr. Washington is a seasoned leader with extensive media experience and expertise. He will lead the BAC, an advisory council composed of nearly 25 leading U.S. corporations.

Frank Washington is the Founder/Chairman/CEO of Tower of Babel LLC, dba Crossings TV. Crossings TV is an Asian language cable network serving six major U.S. markets. He is the Trustee of Lincoln Multimedia Trust, which controls the U.S. holdings of a Hong Kong-based telecommunications company. Mr. Washington also held a significant ownership interest in a broadcast television station serving the Seattle market and is an owner and principal in Blackbird Solutions, Inc., an African American news app.

Mr. Washington has worked in the media for several decades. He served as President and CEO of System Integrators, Inc., a provider of publishing solutions to a third of the world’s major newspapers. He was also a founder, investor, and principal in Aurora Communications, a multi-market radio group and general partner in cable television limited partnerships with a combined subscriber base of just under half a million. He has also worked at McClatchy Newspapers of Sacramento, Times-Mirror Company, was Deputy Chief of the FCC’s Broadcast Bureau, where he served as Legal Assistant to the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission and at the White House Office of Telecommunications Policy. He is a graduate of Cornell University and Yale Law School.

Mr. Washington serves on or has served on the boards of several companies, including Chairman of the board of Golden Pacific Bancorp, Chairman of Access Health (a publicly traded health technology company), World Television of Washington LLC and Spartan LLC, broadcast television stations in Seattle, WA, and Lansing, MI, Qantum Communications LLC and Aurora Communications both broadcast radio groups and the U.S. Bank Advisory board for the Sacramento region. He also serves on or has served as a director of various nonprofit organizations, including the national Board of UC Davis School of Medicine; UC Davis Medical School’s Center for Health and Technology, the UC Davis Foundation; Chairman of the Sacramento Chamber of Commerce; Chairman of the KVIE-TV and Capital Public Radio boards; Chairman of MetroPAC; and, on the California Chamber of Commerce board of directors.
