John –
We strongly believe in building power from the ground up and know that the people who are closest to a problem often have the best understanding of how to fix it. As such, we devote the month of August to paying homage to Black revolutionaries, incarcerated freedom fighters, and Black resistance – historical and ongoing – by encouraging Black-led organizations to apply for Movement Labs' in-kind grants program. This grants program aims to uplift movement-building work in historically marginalized communities.
This year, we're excited to provide grants to 10 organizations!
These advocates and activists are working in critical areas including:
- Driving up Black voter registrations and voter turnout in critical battleground states like Florida;
- Building up a new bench of young Black and Brown candidates to run for local office in their hometowns; and
- Bringing under-served groups like immigrants and the formerly incarcerated into the civic and activist spaces in their communities.
But the only way we can provide impactful grants to these organizations doing this powerful work is through your generous support. Will you make a contribution of $3 today and help us continue this program and others?
