Friends, it’s Ed. I like to be transparent with you about our fundraising efforts so I’m sharing the truth:
Our FEC fundraising deadline closes on Saturday, and we are still short of where we need to be to meet our goals for the quarter. At least $5,000 short as of my writing this email.
It’s not too surprising — campaigns like ours are used to a “summer slump” where donations come in a bit slower during the third quarter of the year.
But the reality is that we already factored that slump into our goals at the start of July, meaning we can’t afford to slip any further. So, we need a hail mary if we’re going to get back on track.
We usually ask folks to give $5 for their first contribution. It helps power this movement as we fight for the progressive values we all believe in. But today we’re asking if you could instead chip in $10 so we can keep up that fight.
We know $10 may not seem like a lot compared to the far-right mega-donors and billionaire super PACs we are up against, but honestly... when everyone contributes what they can and does their part it really does add up to enough resources to win. We’ve seen it time and time again.
So please, I’m humbly asking for your help:
Can you make your first contribution today and help us reach our goals before the end of the week? Once we submit our FEC report, our fundraising numbers will be made public for all to see. [[link removed]]
