John, I just looked at ActBlue to see our average donation number for this month and I’m proud to say it’s $28.82. This is a true grassroots movement that shows our strength in our numbers.
I wanted to break it down even further, John:
83% of our donations are under $28.
471 unique donations.
$0 from corporate donors or special interests.
When I ran for Congress, I was defeated because of millions in special interest donations and corporate PACs. I’ve ALWAYS put people first, because that is who I represent - not lobbyists. I rely on grassroots donors because I believe being a people-powered, people-centric campaign is how we win and create real progress.
Every donation powers our people-centric campaign to create a brighter future for Durham - one that prioritizes helping low-income families, raises minimum wage for county employees, and creates avenues for economic growth.
With our end-of-quarter deadline looming, we have set an ambitious goal of $10,000. It is going to take all of us to hit our goal. This is our last public reporting period before election season officially starts and now is the time to show our strength.
If we fall short of our goal, we risk losing the progress we’ve made for a better Durham. We won’t let special interests beat us this time, but I need your help. Will you chip in our average donation of $28.82 right now to help us hit our end-of-quarter goal of $10,000? >>
Thanks,
Nida Allam
