Hi,

I won’t lie. I’m feeling a strange sense of déjà vu today.

Here’s what I mean. I live in California, and I vividly remember the day Proposition 12 was passed in 2018—becoming the strongest animal protection law in the world.

In 2022, I watched from the edge of my seat as Big Pork fought the law all the way up to the Supreme Court. Tears flowed as I celebrated our movement’s victory, a victory that declared animals shouldn’t be confined to cages barely larger than their own bodies.

And in 2023, my blood is boiling as I write to you. Because massive factory farming interests are fighting to overturn Prop 12. Again.

But I'm getting ahead of myself. My name is Melody, and I’m partnering with another donor to match all gifts to The Humane League. Together, we’ll match up to $100,000. I'm reaching out to you personally. Because I know you've been fighting alongside The Humane League to spare animals from cruel cages, every step of the way.

And because this only works if we work together.

>> Until World Farm Animals Day on October 2, I’m matching all new monthly gifts for the first three months. Will you pitch in any amount to help take on the biggest system of animal suffering in the world? <<

I refuse to accept a world where pigs, cows, and chickens suffer behind bars, their cries for help ignored and unheard. And that means going up against one of the most powerful, money-hungry industries in existence. It means telling them that no animal deserves to live life in a cage so small she can’t even turn around.

This is no small feat. The factory farming industry literally has billions of dollars at its disposal.

The thing is, Big Meat doesn't have a clue how much we really care.

In fact, they keep underestimating us. This summer, they tried to attack Prop 12 with the “Ending Agricultural Trade Suppression” EATS Act—but it got overwhelming opposition. Now, they’re looking for other ways to sneak language into the Farm Bill that would overturn Prop 12 and keep millions of animals confined to cages.

This strikes me as head-shakingly insidious. I mean, it’s like every movie villain ever.

So I guess, if they want an epic battle montage—let’s give them one.

Let’s make the factory farming industry wish you and I never met.

For the animals,

P.S. $15 becomes $30. $50 becomes $100. Every dollar makes a difference. Will you make a gift of any size today?
