NAFCU’s award-winning advocacy team is continuing to fight back against efforts to attach the big box bailout legislation to government funding proposals as lawmakers attempt to avert a government shutdown – and is calling on credit unions to join the effort through the Grassroots Action Center. Current funding is set to expire at midnight Sept. 30.
NAFCU met Friday with staff from the Federal Communiations Commission’s (FCC) Consumer and Government Affairs Bureau to discuss issues regarding the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and the FCC’s efforts to combat illegal robocalls. Of note, NAFCU met with staff from FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr’s office earlier in September to discuss similar issues.
NAFCU is hosting a complimentary roundtable discussion for members of the Human Resources Network and Marketing and Growth Network this Thursday at 12 p.m. Eastern. The discussion will be focused on the impact of community engagement on employee and member engagement, with an emphasis on financial literacy and education.
