1 in 8 Americans has been a victim of nonconsensual pornography. 

One. in. Eight. 

That’s a horrific statistic — but what makes it worse is that when a victim’s photos or videos are circulated online without their consent, like what happened to me, and what happened to Susanna Gibson in Virginia a few weeks ago, it’s extremely difficult to hold perpetrators accountable. 

Right now, revenge porn is not a federal crime in the United States. 

The SHIELD Act could change all that, and it was just recently passed by the Senate Judiciary Committee. Now is the time to push the rest of Congress to act, and secure justice for those 1 in 8 Americans.
