This week, I was busy in Washington advocating on behalf of the people of Florida's 27th District!
As Chairwoman of the Western Hemisphere Subcommittee on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, I am proud to advance numerous policy initiatives that will make Latin America a freer place. Check out some of those initiatives below!

I WON THE POLICYMAKER OF THE YEAR AWARD! |

This past week, I was given the 'Policymaker of the Year' award by the Recording Industry Association of America for my commitment to solving the issues that directly impact the Hispanic community of the United States and for my career of advocacy for the performing arts!

DEFENDING FREE ELECTIONS FOR THE VENEZUELAN PEOPLE FROM THE MADURO DICTATORSHIP! |
This past week, I sent a letter to President Biden urging him to defend María Corina Machado's candidacy for the presidency of Venezuela from the relentless attacks of the Maduro dictatorship.
I also introduced the VOICE Act to impose further sanctions on Nicolás Maduro and his lackeys for threatening the presidential primary elections coming up soon!
María Corina's candidacy to the presidency is the best chance the Venezuelan people have to rid themselves of more than 20 years of socialism. Let's help them secure that chance!

BLACKLISTING THE SANDINISTAS FOR THEIR CRIMES AGAINST NICARAGUAN CATHOLICS! |

On Monday, I sent a letter to the Ambassador-at-large for International Religious Freedom Rashad Hussain urging him to include the Frente Sandinista de Liberación Nacional, more commonly known as the Sandinistas, on the List of Entities of Particular Concern for violations of religious freedom!
The Sandinistas, led by the dictator couple Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo, have engaged in a systematic war against the Nicaraguan Catholic Church since 2018.
These abuses can no longer go unanswered for, and I urge the Biden Administration to take this critical step to ensure the brutal Ortega regime faces the consequences of their crimes with the full force of the United States government.
