Happy Hispanic Heritage Month, John.

As a proud Latina, Hispanic Heritage Month represents an exciting time for my family. I was raised by immigrant parents who instilled the value of hard work, dedication, and community into me from a young age. They inspired me to break barriers, go to college, and ultimately work in public service - first as a pediatrician and now as a Congresswoman.

It’s not lost on me that I’m the first Latina elected to represent the Colorado delegation in the House of Representatives. It’s an honor and a privilege to bring my perspective to and represent my community in Congress.

But as you know, to keep fighting for the Latino community, we have a lot of work to do - and I have a tough fight ahead.
