We’re SIX days away from a government shutdown led by Republicans — and
Kevin McCarthy adjourned the House early for the weekend.

This shutdown may be inevitable, but it’s also avoidable. Kevin McCarthy
is so worried about keeping his job, he’s allowing the far-right MAGA wing
of his party to call the shots. As a result, Social Security checks could
be delayed, hundreds of thousands of people will be out of work,
government cancer research will be stopped, and airports could see massive
delays.

Crises like this will continue to happen as long as Republicans are in
control of the House. With the 2024 election around the corner, the only
path to a Democratic majority is through the battleground districts that
progressives narrowly won in 2022.

running for re-election in critical frontline districts in 2024?

* Congressman Matt Cartwright won in 2022 with 51% of the vote.
* Congressman Mike Levin won in 2022 with 52% of the vote.
* Congressman Chris Deluzio won in 2022 with 53% of the vote.
* Congresswoman Angie Craig won in 2022 with 51% of the vote.
* Congresswoman Susan Wild won in 2022 with 52% of the vote.
* Congresswoman Andrea Salinas won in 2022 with 50% of the vote.

This is far from the first time Republicans have shut down the government
in their attempt to pass extreme, far-right policies. But this time,
they’re not just trying to cut spending on critical programs — they want
to DEFUND the Justice Department to prevent Donald Trump from being held
accountable.

The balance of the House and the Senate are on the line in 2024. If we
want to take back the House and end the chaos, we must re-elect these
frontline progressive incumbents.

elect them?

Thanks for being a bold progressive.
