Taking Action to Combat China, Defend Our Farmlands, and Protect Americans From a CBDC
There is a lot of tough talk on Capitol Hill about China. This week, I led my colleagues on the Financial Services Committee in walking the walk by taking action to combat the Chinese Communist Party. With the legislation advanced this week, we are:
Utilizing sanctions to target the Chinese Communist Party’s military industrial complex.
Curbing China's ability to wage war by cutting off revenues and technologies from bad actors.
Protecting our farmlands from purchase by foreign adversaries.
Additionally, the House Financial Services Committee advanced legislation to protect the American people from the serious threat posed by a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).
A Chinese Communist Party-style CBDC threatens the privacy and civil liberties of Americans and this legislation will ensure the Fed does not sidestep Congress to issue a CBDC.
