John had a big week in DC last week 🤭 But I wanted to make sure you didn't miss my two favorite moments.

First, Chris Hayes asked João on MSNBC about his recovery, and he spoke passionately about his fight with depression. The past year has been a wild ride of ups and downs, but through it all the support for João, his vision for Pennsylvania, and his human struggles has made all the difference.

Then a few days later, he became emotional in a Senate hearing speaking about how to become a more empathic and effective senator.

I am so, so proud of João — my grandmother used to say that John had to be made so tall to fit his whole heart. So if some shorts and hoodies (and silly attacks from Fox News) are the price to bring some empathy to DC, that's fine by me. 🥰
