VIDEO OF THE DAY: Trump hands judge excuse for pre-trial jail with bombshell witness-tampering post
The serially indicted, disgraced ex-president issued a not-so-thinly-veiled suggestion that outgoing Joint Chiefs Chair Mark Milley should be executed. Just another day in which the quadruple criminal defendant publicly threatened a potential witness — this time one who had direct, first-hand accounts of the events of Jan. 6, 2021. Only this time, it comes on the heels of a gag order explicitly barring Trump from making such threats, any violation of which "may result in the immediate issuance of a warrant for [his] arrest....punishable by up to ten years in prison." Surely, this is just another case of Democrats weaponizing the DOJ to make Trump commit the stupidest crimes imaginable.

With House Republicans in turmoil, colleagues implore radical right-wing holdouts not to shut down government
Working furiously to take control of a House in utter disarray, allies of feckless Speaker Kevin McCarthy implored their radical, right-wing colleagues to drop their delusional, self-defeating, hardline tactics and work together to approve literally any kind of budget plan to prevent a federal shutdown that would disrupt and devastate hundreds of thousands of American lives. Good luck with that. The chaos is the point with these clowns.

Michigan Republicans elected an election denier as their new leader and she's coming for our voting rights
Promote the Vote: Kristina Karamo is the new leader of Michigan's GOP, and when it comes to attacks on truth and our rights, she's giving Trump a run for his money. With no evidence, she claims there is illegal voting that cost her an election last year and blames “left-wing anarchists” for... well... everything. She has no business leading a major state party, and she is a threat to voting rights in Michigan and beyond. Fortunately, the group, Promote the Vote, is doing the work to ensure that our voting rights remain sacred and secure — but they can't do it alone. Can you chip in a few bucks to ensure they have the resources to protect election integrity in the key swing state?
Writers strike negotiations hung up on language over AI, sources say
Hollywood writers and producers have made "major progress" in negotiations to end the historic strike that has gone on for 145 days, but a major sticking point has been language over the use of artificial intelligence. Writers are rightfully demanding protection against the possibility studios could use artificial intelligence to handle some writing duties and to cut them out of jobs, because where there's a possibility there is DEFINITELY a way. Hold the line, folks!

Peter Navarro calls women who worked in Trump White House "pimp ladies" in deranged tweet
In a totally normal, super classy tweet that will definitely age well, the recently convicted Trump lackey rushed to the defense of — why not — the lecherous Rudy Giuliani from sexual assault claims from former Trump officials. "Why would White House men — prez, vp, senior aide — EVER hire a woman after watching book pimps Cassiday [sic] Hutchinson, Alyssa Farah, Stephanie Grisham, Kayleigh McEnany, Olivia Troye throw mud at Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani et. al. Pimp ladies be giving real MAGA WOMEN bad name,” Navarro concluded, in what should be a career-ending move, were the Republican Party not a festering cauldron of misogynistic, moral rot.

Sen. Bob Menendez now has a primary challenger in New Jersey amid mounting calls for his resignation
Menendez, who is facing mounting pressure from fellow Democrats to resign after he was hit with a string of bribery charges in federal court, will now also have to contend with a primary challenge from Democratic Rep. Andy Kim, who tweeted, "Not something I expected to do, but NJ deserves better. We cannot jeopardize the Senate or compromise our integrity." Everyone deserves their day in court, but just a reminder that upon returning from an unofficial-turned-sanctioned trip to Egypt in October 2021, Mendendez began googling "how much is one kilo of gold worth." Turns out he had some spare bars laying around, which prosecutors allege he accepted as bribes in a scheme that aided the Egyptian government. Not a good look, Bob.
Ted Cruz thinks Democrats will "jettison Joe Biden and parachute in Michelle Obama" to run for president next summer
Okay, Flyin' Ted. Whatever you say. But what's with the all the airplane metaphors? Are you trying to remind everyone how you skipped town and ditched your constituents during a devastating Texas ice storm for a balmy weekend getaway in Cancun?

McCarthy overlooks FATAL FLAW in his impeachment inquiry against Biden
No Lie with Brian Tyler Cohen: Big mistake.
A Black student was suspended for his hairstyle. Now his family is suing Texas officials
The family of Darryl George, a 17-year-old child who was suspended FOR FIVE DAYS because he dared to sport his natural hair style, has rightfully filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against Republican Gov. Greg Abbott and his crooked attorney general, Ken Paxton, alleging they failed to enforce a new law outlawing blatant, racist discrimination based on hairstyles. That anyone must be compelled to take legal action to defend their own existence in 2023 is morally reprehensible and a sign of how thoroughly woven into the American fabric racism is. Beyond embarrassing.
Nebraska woman gets two years in prison after giving abortion pills to teen daughter
Amid a wave of relentless, right-wing efforts to decimate abortion rights across the United States, a Nebraska judge on Friday sentenced Jessica Burgess to TWO YEARS in prison after helping her 17-year-old daughter terminate her unwanted pregnancy at 29 weeks and bury the remains in early 2022. Were reproductive rights sacrosanct and abortion care widely and rightly available, people who would not be forced into such unnecessary — and frankly dangerous — "self-care" scenarios. Yet another reminder for heartless, myopic Republicans that outlawing medical abortion won't simply make abortion go away.
Former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson says Mark Meadows burned so many documents before leaving the Trump White House that the then-chief of staff's wife complained about dry-cleaning bills to remove the "bonfire" smell
