For Democrats not named Bernie Sanders, the stakes could not have been higher at the South Carolina debate on Tuesday night.
Bernie has either won or maybe won (thanks Iowa) each of the first three states. He will virtually clinch the nomination if he wins South Carolina on Saturday and carries that momentum into Super Tuesday.
The other candidates like Pete Buttigieg or Joe Biden should have focused on taking down Bernie. Instead, the debate spiraled into chaos, as the moderators lost control. The candidates exceeded their speaking time, talking over each other, and often veering off-topic.
That isn’t to say there weren’t any attacks on Sanders, as he was called out for his costly and unrealistic Medicare-for-All proposal and his commitment to democratic socialism. But these attacks were likely lost in the broader chaos and uncertainty of the night.
Elizabeth Warren’s favorite part of the night was the fact Michael Bloomberg participated again. Instead of attacking Bernie, whose voters she should be aiming for, Warren continues to score easy hits on Bloomberg, who slipped up and almost said he “bought” the House for Democrats in 2018.
We’ll see whether or not this debate will impact voters in South Carolina on Saturday, which may be the last day that other candidates have to stop Sanders. It is crucial for Biden's campaign that he win South Carolina with a comfortable margin, as it will be the last opportunity to breathe hope into the bellies of the “establishment” Democrats, whom he’ll need to show up in large numbers on Super Tuesday if he is to stop a socialist from clinching the nomination.
Quite a show, isn’t it? Regardless of who wins, they will have to get by President Trump in November to take the White House. Good luck!
It’s such a pity that the other candidates are too scared to criticize Bernie’s past comments about the brutal murderer and dictator Fidel Castro. Their silence on the issue was deafening; either they are conceding to the ideology or they are too scared to alienate his radical supporters. I suspect it’s a combination of both. After all, there is no “moderate” Democrat running for President.
But what exactly makes Sanders’ past comments so terrible? According to Fox News, Sanders argues, “We're very opposed to the authoritarian nature of Cuba but you know, it’s unfair to simply say everything is bad. You know? When Fidel Castro came into office, you know what he did? He had a massive literacy program. Is that a bad thing? Even though Fidel Castro did it?”
No, Bernie, we don’t know. These comments are a great disservice to the tens of thousands of people Castro’s regime killed. Moreover, weren’t these programs just a form of youth indoctrination?
Unlike Bernie, President Trump has been tough on Cuba exerting a “maximum pressure” policy to rid the world of Cuba's communist regime.
In November, voters may have the chance to decide between Bernie and his love for dictators or President Trump and his love for freedom.
We are super excited for CPAC, which runs this Wednesday through Saturday at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Maryland. CPAC brings together many of the biggest names in conservative politics, including President Trump, Vice President Pence, Sen. Ted Cruz, Rep. Jim Jordan, Mark Meadows, Andy Biggs, the Great One Mark Levin and many other courageous conservative voices. Hopefully, many of you get the chance to attend and learn from this incredible collection of speakers. Tweet us your favorite CPAC moment @TPPatriots.
Let’s end with a few things we wish people would stop doing that drive us crazy.
Join us today, and pledge to support our President and help him keep fighting for all Americans! The views are polar opposite – one supports American farmers, the other belittles them. Which will you choose?
During the Tuesday evening debate in South Carolina, Senator Bernie Sanders lauded the supposed benefits to a socialized healthcare system. Bernie, for decades now, has been seriously misinformed. His most recent detractor is a surprising one: the Coronavirus... Last night’s debate was, by all accounts, a dumpster fire crossed with a political shooting range. While candidates took cheap and easy shots at each other CBS’ poor moderation let it all unfold in glorious fashion.Tiana Lowe gives us the breakdown of the winners from last night:... Even while planning a trip to India and planning his reelection campaign, President Trump still finds time to troll his potential opponents. Bernie Sanders swept the Nevada Caucuses, to the chagrin of many. In a ‘congratulatory’ tweet, Trump told “Crazy Bernie” to not let the DNC steal the primary from him... When President Trump announced the Space Force he was laughed at by every late-night host. It was a silly venture too ahead of its time. At least that’s what the liberals claimed. The truth is that a dedicated force to deal with Space is sorely needed....
