Authorities seized vast sums of cash and gold bars during a raid of the Menendez’s home, and senate Democrats moved quickly to force the New Jersey senator to step down as chairman of the Foreign Relations committee, though they’ve stopped short of calling on him to resign from the senate – at least so far.
