Terri Sewell is the proud product of Alabama’s rural Black Belt and has spent her life fighting for Alabama communities. From her time as one of the only black public finance lawyers in Alabama, when she delivered financing for new campus facilities at Alabama State University, Tuskegee University, and Stillman College, to her work as Congresswoman for Alabama’s 7th District, Terri Sewell has delivered results every step of the way. TERRI SEWELL FOR CONGRESS

At the core of my fight in Congress is to make sure everyone has the right to vote.

In recent years, we’ve witnessed several states take alarming actions to restrict access to the ballot box. This included closing polling stations, banning early and absentee voting, and even going as far as trying to ban the simple act of providing water to people waiting in line.

These modern-day barriers to voting are dangerous, and we know they won’t stop here. They are a direct attack on access to voting for underserved communities.

We cannot continue to perpetuate further barriers to voting, and restoring the full protections of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 would be a major step in the right direction towards safeguarding the rights of minority voters across the nation. Sign on now if you agree that Congress must act now.

The battles we thought were long behind us have resurfaced, and we must continue to fight and ensure that everyone has an equal voice in our democracy.

I will always be at the forefront of this battle to protect the sacred promise of the Voting Rights Act, but I need to know you’re with me.

Will you add your name in support of defending our democracy and guaranteeing that every American’s voice is heard at the ballot box?
