As I sit here on this quiet Saturday morning, sipping my coffee and watching the sun rise, I can't help but reflect on the journey that has brought me to this moment. It's a journey that has been shaped by a deep sense of duty and a commitment to our nation's founding principles - Freedom, Democracy, Truth & Justice - a commitment that now compels me to run for Congress.

The founding principles of our nation are under attack, and it's crystal clear that we need courageous leaders who are willing to stand up and fight back. I've spent over 30 years of my life serving my country, defending our democracy with every fiber of my being. It's a duty I've always taken seriously, and when duty calls, I serve.

But now, I feel that my duty extends beyond the battlefield. It extends to the halls of Congress, where I believe I can make a difference for our community and our country as a whole.

It's a duty born out of a deep love for our nation and a desire to see it thrive in the 21st century and as I gaze out the window, I can't help but think about the issues that matter most to me and, I believe, to you as well:

Building a 21st-century economy that leaves no one behind.
Investing in our public schools to prepare our children for a rapidly changing world.
Protecting and preserving our natural environment for future generations.
Guaranteeing access to quality healthcare as a fundamental right.
Legalizing cannabis and ending the unjust war on drugs.
Ending the scourge of gun violence that plagues our communities.

These are not just political talking points; they are the Saturday morning thoughts of someone who cares deeply about our community and the world we leave for our children.

I believe that together, we can address these challenges head-on and bring about positive change. But I can't do it alone.
