Dear john,

This week, President Biden announced the creation of the first-ever White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention. This is historic progress in the fight against gun violence and the effort to keep our families and our children safe.

On Friday, I was honored to join White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre for a press briefing to speak on this new office, which is the first-of-its-kind. You can watch the full press briefing by clicking here or on the image below.

We are still accepting applications for my next Vietnam War pinning ceremony. Please visit my website and fill out an application, or scan the QR code below. If you are a veteran who served during the Vietnam War era, I look forward to celebrating you in November!

Image features the American flag in the background. Blue and orange text on a white background reads: "Vietnam War Pinning Ceremony. Thursday, November 9th. Applications are currently being accepted for all eligible seventh district Vietnam veterans or family members. To apply to be recognized, please scan this QR code." There is a black and white QR code on the graphic which links to McBath's pinning ceremony application page, located at https://mcbath.house.gov/vietnam-war-pinning-ceremony.

As we enter the fall, I also wanted to bring your attention to the approaching deadline for my Military Service Academy nomination applications. For all Seventh District students who are interested in receiving a congressional nomination from my office to a U.S. Service Academy, you must complete your application process no later than 11:59 pm on Sunday, October 15th, 2023. To learn more, please visit my Service Academy information page on my website.

Thank you for taking the time to read this update. It is my honor to serve our community in Congress. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch with my office.
