I wanted to update you on the situation in Washington. We are on the brink of a government shutdown because extremist Republicans are refusing to allow a vote that would keep the government open.

While we don't have all the details of this potential shutdown, it is possible that federal programs like Social Security, the IRS, VA, federal loans and more may be affected.
