Friend,,
It’s hard to believe it, but tomorrow marks the official first day of fall. Time flies, that’s for sure!
It’s certainly a special time of year here in Michigan, as we watch the season turn and start layering up more and more to keep warm. Folks are starting to break out the Halloween decorations, and our first snowfall could be in a matter of weeks now.
We must also keep our Michigan farmers top of mind during this busy harvest season.
They work long hard days this time of year to feed our state, our nation, and the world!
Will you sign a card we’ve put together to express our gratitude? |
Our state’s food and agriculture industry is massive – it employs more than 800,000 Michiganders and contributes more than $104 billion to our economy annually.
We have more than 10 million acres of farmland, with Michigan home to roughly 47,600 farms. We grow a wide variety of crops, leading the nation in the production of asparagus, black and cranberry beans, cucumbers, tart cherries, Niagara grapes, and squash!
Take a moment today to show your appreciation for our farmers – and if you are a farmer yourself, THANK YOU for all that you do! - Team Walberg
