Hello, Friends —
Congress' unrestrained deficit spending must come to an end. That is why I stood up this week for not only Northwest Floridians but all Americans and opposed a destructive continuing resolution. This misguided legislation would have provided continued funding for Joe Biden's proxy war in Ukraine, the political witch-hunt of President Donald J. Trump, and programs included in Nancy Pelosi's disastrous omnibus bill. I will not — and will never — vote for a resolution that continues exorbitant spending at the expense of hardworking Americans.

Although a Continuing Resolution (CR) for now has been stopped, our job is not finished. The American people deserve single-subject spending bills. As our country careens toward $2 trillion annual deficits, the people of our nation are forced to carry the burden of a debt that is $33 trillion and climbing. A 30-day "appeasement resolution" is completely immoral, and the federal government's spending is completely unsustainable. House Conservatives must hold the line for the American people and stand up for the principles we fought for at the beginning of the year.
ATTORNEY GENERAL GARLAND REFUSES TO ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT HUNTER BIDEN'S CHINESE BUSINESS DEALS
During Wednesday's House Judiciary Committee hearing on the "Oversight of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ)," I questioned U.S. Attorney General (AG) Merrick Garland on how Joe and Hunter Biden leveraged foreign business deals and clandestine art sales to enrich themselves while selling power to the highest bidder. Unsurprisingly, AG Garland repeatedly refused to provide answers the American people deserve to know.
During the hearing, I also grilled AG Garland on the Biden DOJ's decision to end President Trump's China Initiative, which had resulted in the successful prosecutions and convictions of a Harvard chemistry professor who hid his ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and a Chinese national who stole trade secrets from the agribusiness giant Monsanto.
Merrick Garland conveniently omitted the reality that the China initiative was shut down after multiple members of the Biden family, including Hunter Biden and the president himself, raked in millions of dollars from foreign-business deals with the Chinese Communist Party through shell companies.

REP. GAETZ: SPACE FORCE LIEUTENANT'S LGBT AND ABORTION POLICIES ARE ABHORRENT
During Wednesday's Military Personnel Subcommittee hearing, I held "woke" Space Force leadership accountable and took a stand for meritocracy. Recently, Lt. Gen. DeAnna Burt gave a speech where she said she considers a state's LGBT and abortion policy before choosing a candidate for squadron commands. Senior military officials testifying in the hearing told me that her comments are counter to the DOD's promotion process.
A state's stance on gender policy, abortion policy, or critical race theory should not determine how aligned a candidate is for a potential command role. On behalf of our nation's servicemen and women, House Armed Services Committee Republicans must get to the bottom of this.
CONGRESSMAN GAETZ JOINS TIMCAST IRL

On Thursday night, I joined Timcast IRL to discuss the rising tensions between the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and Taiwan, the geopolitical strategy of the Ukraine-Russia conflict, and Democrats' absolute disregard of our southern border. Unsurprisingly, all three topics carry the same theme: The Biden administration's policies regarding these issues don't put America first — they put America last.
REP. GAETZ AND REP. CHIP ROY TALK GOVERNMENT SPENDING BATTLE ON HANNITY

On Tuesday, Congressman Chip Roy and I joined "Hannity" on Fox News to discuss that Congress failing to consider individual appropriations bills is not a bug in the system, but instead a feature. Although the D.C. Uniparty wants to jam us under the fear of a shutdown so that lobbyists and special-interest groups get to call the shots, I refuse to give up.
FIREBRAND EP. 117: NO CONTINUING RESOLUTION
On Tuesday's episode of Firebrand, I gave a breakdown of where things stand with the impending deadline to fund the government, my feud with the House Speaker, and more. The House of Representatives must show up for the ones that matter most: the American people. Right now, many Representatives would rather pass a continuing resolution and watch college football or play a round of golf.

Rep. Matt Gaetz: We Have The Evidence. It's Time To Impeach Joe Biden
"Here's the reality: As Vice President, Joe Biden changed U.S. foreign policy to the benefit of a Ukrainian business paying Hunter Biden. There is a plethora of evidence showing this. Let's go through it."

How Matt Gaetz seized the House
"Making things worse for McCarthy was the fact that the never-CR Republicans and the no-on-the-rule Republicans are actually slightly different groups (though the former has more members). In fact, Gaetz voted for the rule for the Defense bill on both Tuesday and Thursday. But the rule votes increased McCarthy's desperation and strengthened his chief antagonist. Gaetz told his Republican colleagues that McCarthy should bring single subject appropriations bills to the floor one at a time. He dictated his list of the first four: Defense, Homeland Security, State-Foreign Operations, and the Agriculture-FDA bill. A few hours later, the Rules Committee put out notice that it would be taking up four bills Friday at 1 p.m.: Defense, Homeland Security, State-Foreign Operations, and the Agriculture-FDA bill. The premise of the Gaetz plan is to kill what he calls governing by CR. It assumes a government shutdown is inevitable. And instead of using a hard-right CR as the House's opening move in negotiations with the Senate, the (lengthy) floor debates on the House GOP-crafted appropriations bills will serve that purpose."

'I'm totally disgusted': Congress goes home for 'college football weekend' as government shutdown looms
"In just nine days, the U.S. government may shut down, and rather than pull all-nighters to prevent it, our nation’s lawmakers are leaving Washington, D.C. for a long weekend of 'college football' and 'the end of golf season.' Word came down on Thursday that House members 'are done for the week.'"

Here Are The Biggest Takeaways From Merrick Garland's Testimony About The Hunter Biden Case
"Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz questioned Garland on $3 million worth payments sent from Chinese energy firm State Energy HK to Hunter Biden's former business associate Rob Walker. Garland did not answer Gaetz's question and deferred to Weiss. Bank records released by the House Oversight Committee and testimony from Ziegler confirm the Biden family received more than $1 million worth of payments from State Energy HK through Walker's shell company."

Rep. Matt Gaetz Of Florida Grills Space Force's Top Brass On Red-State Policy, Politics
"Three months ago, one of the U.S. Space Force's top woke generals openly acknowledged that she heavily weighs a state’s policies on supporting the LGBTQ agenda before determining where subordinate commanders are stationed. As the Tampa Free Press reported at the time, Lt. Gen. DeAnna Burt, while in uniform and speaking at a Pride event at the Pentagon, said she decides where troops go depending on whether they will be 'safe being themselves' or denied healthcare 'due to the laws' in a state, as based on some 400 alleged anti-LGBTQ laws those states have passed or considered."
