Friend, National Public Lands Day is tomorrow. It’s the most important day of the year to step up our efforts to protect vulnerable species and the lands they roam. And we need you with us.
Hunting season is in full swing. And that means bad news for our nation’s wolves and bears. Last year alone, hunters in Montana targeted and killed over 250 wolves. And just a few weeks ago, a mama grizzly was gunned down, leaving her cub orphaned. Now, wolf and bear populations are dwindling. And if this pattern continues, this winter could be the last for many of them.
Meanwhile, trophy hunters and special interests want you to think their murderous actions are indispensable. But that's a complete lie. Their actions are driving our nation’s iconic species to the brink. And they’re putting their habitats up for mining, logging, and other destructive practices. All for the sake of profit. We don’t have to let them get away with this.
We don’t want to see a world without majestic wolves and iconic grizzly bears. And we know you don’t either, Friend. That’s why Friends of the Earth is fighting back to protect vulnerable wolves, bears, and our planet before the damage is irreversible. That means we’re taking on greedy, destructive corporations. And we’re pressuring lawmakers to take the urgent action we need before countless species are lost forever.
We set a $60,000 goal in service of National Public Lands Day to continue this important work. That’s why I’m personally reaching out to top supporters like you ahead of tomorrow’s crucial deadline. I know that you are as committed to this fight as every member of our core team. So please: Will you give $27 or more now to help reach our must-hit goal and continue the fight to save vital species and our only Earth?
Preserving Endangered Species Act protections is not just in service of wildlife. This vital legislation is a critical tool to protect life on Earth as we know it. It shields local communities from pollution. It keeps our climate from being driven into utter chaos. And it protects our nation's wildlife from harmful industries like Big Oil and Gas. The attacks on the ESA are proof that it’s working. But if greedy interests succeed in striking it down, it means that these industries can have an easier time exploiting public lands for drilling, fracking, mining, and factory farming.
Friend, without urgent action, we could lose our greatest tool in the fight to preserve essential ecosystems and protect precious wildlife from extinction. Because right now, anti-environmental interests are ruthlessly attacking the Endangered Species Act.That’s because the trophy hunting lobby and Big Polluters want even more power. Even if it means destroying whole ecosystems for profit and pushing struggling species to EXTINCTION. And they’ll stop at nothing to get their way.
That means we could lose vulnerable creatures like the rare Mexican wolf, just as their populations are beginning to recover from decades of decimation. We could lose iconic grizzly bears, as attacks on their protections are ramping up. And countless other species could be lost forever -- unless we fight back now.
Friends of the Earth won’t stand aside while wolves, bears, and the planet suffer these vicious attacks. But we can't win this fight without help from generous supporters like you. We’re counting on you to stand with us with a membership contribution today as we continue fighting to save the ESA and our planet. Please, Friend: Donate $27 or more now in honor of National Public Lands Day and help us hit our crucial $60,000 goal before tomorrow's midnight deadline.
Standing with you,
Raena Garcia
