Dear Washingtonians,
We kicked off this week celebrating the beautiful new?Whitman-Walker Max Robinson Center on the St. Elizabeths East campus in Ward 8.?The new 118,000 square-foot healthcare and research facility will provide a range of services to the community, including primary, dental, and HIV care, behavioral health services, substance use counseling, and a pharmacy.
I encourage you to listen to Commissioner Deborah Wells share the impact that the Max Robinson Center has had on her life.
The new Max Robinson Center is on the same campus where we will open the Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health in 2025. Together, these two state-of-the-art facilities will help transform the way we deliver healthcare in the community.?
The next day, we held our sixth annual National Maternal and Infant Health Summit where we spoke about what it means to support moms and families and what it means to build a village that supports families.?
The takeaway from both of these events is the same as the message shared in Deborah's testimony: when we invest in and support our people, we can make big things happen and we can build strong families and communities.?
Sincerely,
