Friend, if you’re not yet watching what’s happening in Texas, let me fill you in:

CNN recently called Texas’ Senate seat one of the most likely to flip blue in 2024 – meaning Ted Cruz’s days as a U.S. Senator could be numbered.

I personally watched in horror as Ted Cruz objected to certifying Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 election on Jan. 6. Soon after that speech – and after weeks of Cruz abetting Trump’s Big Lie – a violent pro-Trump mob attacked the Capitol.

I was there when Cruz was spotted joining closed-door discussions with Trump’s defense team during his impeachment trial – a trial for which Cruz, as a U.S. Senator, was supposed to be acting as an impartial witness.

And perhaps most shocking of all, I’ve seen Cruz act as one of the most ardent obstructionists of gun safety reform in Congress – even as his own state of Texas suffers from an epidemic of gun violence.

Texas and America deserve better – and fortunately, there’s hope in his Democratic challenger Rep. Colin Allred.

Colin is a fourth-generation Texan and a former college and NFL athlete who went on to become a civil rights attorney. Importantly, Colin is already battle tested: He flipped a House district that had previously been red for 11 terms! Given that Cruz won by less than 3 points in 2018, with a candidate like Colin in the race, we have a real shot to flip this seat blue.

But Ted Cruz is sitting on a giant campaign war chest, which means the only way Colin can defeat him is with an outpouring of grassroots donations. That’s why I’m counting on this grassroots team to chip in today to defeat Ted Cruz, flip Texas blue, and expand the Democratic Senate control. So I’m urgently asking:

Will you split a donation of $5 or more between Colin Allred and my campaign to defeat Ted Cruz? Election experts are predicting Texas can flip blue, but it will take a grassroots movement to make it happen. Please give what you can today.
