Fire Open House

Join us for our annual Fire Department Open House at Fire Station 1! In 'n Out will serve hamburgers, and hot dogs will be available. There will be extraction and high-angle rescue demos, face painting, Fire Safety House, and all fire apparatus will be on display.

The Northeast Emergency Distribution (N.E.E.D) will host a food drive during the Open House event. If you would like to make a food donation, please bring items from the following list: canned meats, soups, condiments, canned tomato products, canned beans, canned misc. vegetables, meal kits, breakfast items, cooking oils, canned fruit, pudding, Jell-O.

Neighborhood Gathering During National Night Out
National Night Out

"Together, we are making communities safer, more caring places to live and work."

Hurst communities are invited to participate in this year’s National Night Out event! Neighborhoods around the city can participate by hosting block parties or cookouts to promote police-community and neighborhood camaraderie.

If you plan to host a neighborhood gathering, be sure to register online at hursttx.gov/NNO [ [link removed] ].

Registration is free, and it gives the police department, fire department, and other city representatives an opportunity to attend your community’s gathering.

We look forward to connecting with you again during National Night Out this year!

Extra Bulk Collection Days

We have coordinated with Republic Services to offer additional bulk collection days on October 7 (for those with Monday & Thursday garbage service) and October 14 for those with Tuesday & Friday garbage service). You can leave your bulky or green waste items at your curb, just make sure that loose items are bundled or containerized. *Place your items for pickup by 7 a.m.*

ACCEPTED ITEMS: Any non-hazardous bulk items such as scrap metal, containerized brush, old fencing material or other debris (no commercial), electronic equipment including computers, TVs, DVD players, and cell phones

NOT ACCEPTED: Tires & explosives, construction materials such as shingles and sheetrock, no more than six (6) fence panels will be accepted unless a fence permit is shown for the address, compressed gas, pharmaceuticals or sharps
