This week, our Armenian friends living in the Artsakh region faced a deadly military attack by the nation of Azerbaijan. Armenia was the first Christian nation, and the Central Valley, particularly Fresno, has a long and cherished history with Armenian-Americans. Armenia is a longtime ally of the Valley, California, and our nation. The primarily Muslim nation of Azerbaijan is currently holding the Armenian people in Artsakh hostage and has blockaded them for months from receiving food or medicine.
Joe Biden has chosen to stand with the oil-rich Azerbaijan government. In the past, Joe Biden has sided with the Turkish government and those who have historically persecuted and committed genocide against the Armenian people.
Let me make my position 100% clear. I stand with the Armenian people, those living in Artsakh currently under attack, and will always support religious liberty and self-determination. It is important that United States leaders call out Joe Biden and his failure to criticize the Azerbaijan government.
