The Office of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (ODHH) is currently seeking a Case Manager to join their team. They will provide case management services for clients who are Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing in the Vancouver, WA region.
A successful Case Manager can provide culturally rich and congruent client services, assistance, and advocacy. Some of the tasks of the position include assessment of barriers encountered by the client and working with the client to develop a service delivery plan that addresses their needs. They will maintain appropriate and confidential case files, records, and statistical data on all client contact and keep accurate data on client records.
A successful Case Manager is able to provide support and coaching to clients to develop new skills, which may include activities of daily living and self-advocacy. Additionally, they may also advocate and raise service providers? awareness of client rights and responsibilities with or on behalf of clients and constituents.
The ideal candidate will be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and have a bachelor?s degree in social work, Deaf Education, Counseling, Social Justice, Public Policy, Social Services, Psychology, Social Science, Vocational Rehabilitation, or related fields with a minimum of two years? experience in case management. Additionally, experience in communication strategies for Hard of Hearing and Late-Deafened people is highly desirable.
Alternatively, official transcripts of a bachelor?s degree in a non-related field, which includes coursework in psychology, sociology, economics, public policy, social justice, counseling, or social work, and a minimum of three years of experience in case management can be considered. Five years of experience in providing case management services to the Deaf, DeafBlind, Deaf disabled, Hard of Hearing and Late Deafened community will substitute for the above degree requirements.
