I apologize in advance for talking your ear off; I’ve got a lot to say today!

After such an exciting summer, I’ve been thinking back on the experiences that shaped me and sent me down this path of public service nearly 30 years ago. I’ve written down some of those experiences (and included some cute throwbacks for you to enjoy, too!).

Of course, if you’re in a hurry, you can go ahead and chip in $25 to make sure we crush this End-of-Quarter FEC goal next week!

You’ve probably heard me talk about my great-grandmother Maebell James – a relentlessly strong, compassionate woman who was a guiding North Star to our family.

She embodied self-worth, determination, and respect, and she made sure to instill those traits in her kids and grandkids, too. I believe every young person deserves a champion like her, who gives them the tools they need to succeed.

As County Executive, I’ve increased funding for public schools, improved support and guidance for students of all ages, expanded and funded after-school programs, and helped establish and expand summer job programs to help teens gain confidence and work experience.

I’m proud to be a champion for young Marylanders, and I’ll continue that work in the Senate. Would you please consider contributing $25 to my campaign to help me go farther and do better for the next generation?

I learned by my great-grandmother and my parents’ example that if something’s broken, you don’t wait around for someone else to fix it, you go get your toolbox. Those values guided me towards public service a whole 26 years ago, and I’ve never once looked back.

When I wanted to create a safer neighborhood for my daughter, I ran for State’s Attorney. When I wanted to find solutions to prevent individuals from entering the justice system in the first place, I ran for County Executive.

Now, I’m running for Senate because there’s a lot to fix, and too many leaders who want things to stay broken: our healthcare, economy, infrastructure, environment, education, and a whole lot more.

Working families deserve a system that works for them – so please, will you chip in $25 to start laying a foundation for a safer, healthier, and more prosperous future?

I know I’ve given you a whole lot to think about here, so thank you for reading it all the way through. And most of all, thank you for being a part of this groundbreaking movement.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Angela
