This week, Governor Walz convened his fifth annual Governor and Tribal Leaders Summit, where he met?with tribal leadership and affirmed?his commitment to supporting the 11 tribal nations in Minnesota.?

*"Over the past four years, we?ve made a lot of progress in building relationships and trust with the 11 tribes in Minnesota. I look forward to continuing our work together ? government to government ? as we push to be the best state in the country for tribal state relations,"* said Governor Walz.

Governor Walz got his flu shot this week and encouraged Minnesotans to get their annual flu shot and updated COVID-19 vaccine, too.?

Lieutenant Governor Flanagan Highlights Minnesota as Model for More Supportive Economy

Last week, Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan kicked off the back-to-school season by?welcoming students and celebrating the new free school meals program providing free breakfast and lunch for Minnesota students. Families are set to save thousands on school breakfast and lunch costs this year from the new program.

This week, Lieutenant Governor Flanagan highlighted Minnesota as a model for a more supportive economy in a Newsweek op-ed [ [link removed] ]. Here's an excerpt from the piece:?

In case you missed it: After years urging Congress to protect Minnesota?s critical Air National Guard C-130 fleet, Governor Walz celebrated the news that Minnesota?s 133rd Airlift Wing was selected to receive eight new?C-130J Super Hercules [ [link removed] ]?aircraft, replacing their aging C-130Hs.?
