John — My first job out of college taught me more than I ever learned inside a classroom. That’s because I had the privilege of working for Maine Senator George Mitchell as he fought for working class Maine families — like mine — every day. Later, as a policy analyst with Senator Ted Kennedy, I saw the same example of leadership in action. And although their personal styles were different, both put results for the people over ego. Senator Mitchell and Senator Kennedy were my mentors. Growing up in Maine, I wasn’t wealthy or well-connected, but they showed me how to use their power as Senators to achieve results, and taught me that holding yourself accountable to the people you serve is what a real leader does. If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: Mainers are tired of Washington not working for them — I know I am. I’m running because Senator Mitchell and Senator Kennedy taught me what it means to show up for the people you serve. I’m ready to put my experience to work serving the people of my home state. Yours in this fight, Ross LaJeunesse
