Hi folks — Mikie here. Our critical FEC end-of-quarter deadline is coming up in just over a week. We’re counting on 10 more folks from xxxxxx to pitch in ahead of next week’s deadline. He was a B-24 bomber pilot during WWII, and during the war his plane was shot down. As he parachuted from the sky, he didn’t know whether he would live or die. He didn’t know what would happen to him when he landed. And he didn’t know he’d need to hide from Nazi patrols in a barn in France. But he knew not to give up. For my grandfather, there was never blame on both sides. The Nazi’s were in the wrong. Period. And he thought being an American was one of the luckiest things that can happen to a person. I knew from a young age that I wanted that same sense of mission. Of fighting for something bigger than myself, for the values of freedom and democracy. So I graduated from the Naval Academy in the first class of women eligible for combat, and I became a helicopter pilot serving in missions in Europe and the Middle East. In 2018, I started a new mission as your representative of New Jersey’s 11th congressional district, and we’ve gotten a lot done since then. From once-in-a-generation investments in our infrastructure to lowering costs for hardworking families, our country is stronger because of our actions. But the fight is far from over. The values my grandfather instilled in me are under attack by extremist Republicans whose only agenda is protecting former President Donald Trump while stripping away our rights and freedoms. We need strong leaders who won’t give up fighting for their values. Who will lead with honor and dignity. I’ll keep listening and leading until we get the job done.
