I was thrilled to welcome the State Chamber to Washington this week for their annual fly-in! The State Chamber has been a driving force behind Oklahoma’s economic success, representing 1,500 member companies and a workforce of more than 350,000 individuals. Workforce development, manufacturing, and infrastructure were among the many topics discussed. I want to give a massive thank you to the State Chamber for making the trip to Washington and for all the incredible work that they do to support our state's economy.
This week, Brigadier General Raymond Siegfried, Colonel Jason Davis, and Command Master Sergeant Scott Irwin stopped by our office to provide an operations update on the Oklahoma Air National Guard. The 137th Special Operations Wing is based out of Will Rogers Air National Guard Base in Oklahoma City and is home to nearly 2,000 dedicated Air Guardsmen. I want to thank the Oklahoma National Guard for all that they do to keep our state and our nation safe.
I had the opportunity to discuss infrastructure, workforce development, and endangered species concerns with the Oklahoma Municipal Contractors Association (OCMA) this week. OCMA represents all municipal utilities contractors in the state, and I want to thank their leadership for taking the time to meet with me in Washington. Fighting against excessive government overreach that harms Oklahoma’s small businesses and infrastructure development is a top priority of mine, and it was great to discuss my recent legislation to delist the northern long-eared bat that recently passed the House and Senate.
