For those of you in Bloomington, Minneapolis, Minnetonka, St. Louis Park and St. Paul, you need to get ready to RANK YOUR VOTE! You can find out everything you need to know about these local races on RankYourVote.org. We have links to your sample ballot, the list of candidates running, and brochures and videos on how to rank your vote! For specific information for each city, see the voters tab for Bloomington, Minneapolis, Minnetonka, St. Louis Park and St. Paul.
FairVote Minnesota staff and volunteers have been out in the community helping to educate voters about the upcoming ranked-choice elections. It is so rewarding to talk to voters about important races in their community and the power of RCV. If you would like to join our voter outreach and education efforts, sign up here. There are lots of ways you can help –– from tabling at community events, to phone banking, to knocking on doors. And whatever time you have, we can accommodate your schedule.
In addition to educating voters about RCV, FairVote MN also educates the media about ranked-choice elections and how they work. Our second media memo to educate the press, candidates and other interested parties on RCV elections is hot off the presses this week! You can read our first media memo covering how RCV works, Minnesota’s experience with RCV, and FairVote MN’s education efforts here.
And Minnetonka voters (as you may already know from our many communications 😅), you have a critical city question on the ballot this fall: whether to repeal ranked choice voting and revert back to the old two-step municipal primary system in place prior to 2020. We urge you to VOTE NO on REPEAL and help spread the word with your friends, family and neighbors in Minnetonka! You can find out more at the Vote No on Repeal website and our press release issued just last week.
