Good Evening john,
My newsletter includes reporting on a visit to Egger, knocking on doors and talking to residents across the Tyne Valley and securing more investment for local flood defences.
As ever, if you have an issue you would like to raise with me as your local Member of Parliament, please email:

👷♂️ Boosting employment in Hexham
Guy regularly meets local businesses
such as Egger to help create more jobs
in Tynedale and Ponteland.
Today, I visited Egger in Hexham to discuss their continued investment in our local economy and how I can support them in the future.
More jobs is one of my six priorities for Tynedale and Ponteland and we have made good progress. Over the last decade, unemployment in our area has fallen 45%. This means more families with more money in their pockets, boosting our local economy.
But there is more to do. I will continue working with businesses like Egger to bring more investment into our communities and increase the number of local apprenticeships, so young people are equipped with the skills they need for high-paid employment.

Great to be out this week, knocking doors and talking to residents in Hexham, Stocksfield, Haydon Bridge, Stamfordham and Wylam.
Lots of issues came up on the doorstep, including tackling anti-social behaviour. I am working with Northumberland County Council to improve youth services, and I'm making the case to the Chief Constable to ensure we get our fair share of Northumbria Police's 705 new officers.

Guy is working with central Government and the County Council to build on the £6 million investment and protect residents homes and businesses.
** 🌧️ Securing more investment for flood defences
------------------------------------------------------------
This week, I visited a new £6.5 million government-funded flood defence project in Hexham.
By working with the Government and securing this investment, the project will offer security to 90 businesses, protecting jobs and supporting our local economy.
More jobs is one of my six priorities for Tynedale and Ponteland. This investment makes progress on that pledge by creating jobs during construction and protecting our local businesses.
I will continue working with central Government and Northumberland County Council to secure investment into Hexham’s flood defences to protect homes and businesses.
