You're probably seeing a lot about the looming government shutdown, so I wanted you to hear from me exactly where things stand:

On October 1st, government funding runs out. Democrats have been working around the clock to keep the government -- and the vital programs so many Americans depend on -- open, but MAGA Republicans are holding our nation hostage.

They'll only agree to a plan if they get to make drastic cuts to essential programs like K-12 education, clean water protections, and life-saving medical research. And some MAGA Republicans are even bragging that they want to shut down the government.

From the very beginning, it's been clear that MAGA Republicans in Congress hate governing. Chaos is the only word in their playbook.

A MAGA Republican shutdown would be disastrous, unnecessary, and avoidable. And we simply can't afford to let MAGA Republicans gain any more power in the Senate. If you have the means to help, chip in a few dollars to stop a MAGA Republican takeover of the Senate and defend our Democratic Majority.
