Hi there, I hope you’re doing well.

I’m reaching out to ask you to make a donation before our public, end-of-quarter deadline hits next week. There have been major changes in my race, so I hope you’ll let me explain why your support today is critical.

Yesterday, we got word that another Republican challenger filed papers to run against me here in IL-17. That takes our total number of GOP opponents to three.

We'll be sharing more about this new opponent soon, but here’s what you need to understand right now: national Republicans are working *aggressively* to unseat me.

This will be our first public report since these new opponents jumped in. That means this deadline isn’t just our chance to fully fund a winning campaign, it's an opportunity to send a message about our grassroots strength:

I can't thank you enough for your support, friend. With our FEC deadline fast approaching, I'm hoping you’ll add a donation of $5 to help us meet our goal. We set out to raise $20,000 before the deadline, and your support will go a long way.

Some might think I’m going into this election with an incumbency advantage. But the fact is, first-term incumbents are not safe -- not by a long shot.

Remember, I was elected with just 51.8% of the vote in 2022. It came down to the wire, and the outcome was never a foregone conclusion.

The NRCC knows I’m at my most vulnerable right now. That’s why they’re spending resources and recruiting local Republicans to defeat me.

The numbers we submit after September 30th are really important. A strong report could mean larger super PACs are wary of challenging us. It can also slow our opponents fundraising if we’re seen as too formidable.

So please, contribute $5 or more before our FEC deadline. We’re closing in on our quarterly goal, and every donation will go a long way in showing grassroots strength on this public report.

All my best,

Eric
