Team,
Launching a new project is nerve-racking, especially when you put yourself out there in politics these days.
It’s not the personal attacks. I’ve seen it all before. Trust me.
No, what made me a nervous wreck earlier this week is the same thing that kept me up at night back when I launched my campaign for Congress: What if nobody shows up to help?
Now that we’re a few days in, I can breathe easy. And I should have known better. This team ALWAYS shows up for the fight.
We’re just closing out our first week, and already staring down our first FEC deadline in a matter of days. That means we have to build our foundation fast so we can show the world we’re serious — will you chip in to be an official founder of Operation Saving Democracy?
A lot of the leaders behind this new project have spent their entire careers in service to this country. And pretty much every single one of them spent their entire careers not wanting to touch politics with a 10-foot pole.
But each of us knew we couldn't sit out the moment we’re in now. We see the dangers. We know the stakes. And we fear the consequences of failure.
It’s the same reason I couldn’t just pick up my ball and go home when I lost my race for Senate. And I imagine it’s the same reason you’re still here, reading this note. We all see the dangers, and we all know the stakes.
The important part is we refuse to fail. Everything is on the line next year — this is the moment we get our work started, and I’m counting on your help.
Thank you, as always, for being in this fight alongside me.
I wouldn’t be here without you.
Amy
