Today marks the beginning of early voting in Virginia, an opportunity for you to "Secure Your Vote" well ahead of Election Day. From today, September 22, 2023, until the Saturday immediately before November 7, 2023, you can cast your vote in person at your local registrar's office.
Before visiting the local registrar's office, it's advisable to verify your registration status or contact the registrar's office. You can locate the phone number of your registrar’s office here.
To vote early in-person, please follow these steps:
Make a visit to your local registrar’s office or a designated satellite voting location within your county or city to exercise your early voting right. Remember that the last day for early voting is the Saturday prior to Election Day.
You are not required to provide a reason or complete an application to vote early.
When at the registrar’s office or satellite voting location, furnish your name and address and present an acceptable form of identification or sign an ID Confirmation Statement. Failure to provide acceptable identification will necessitate the signing of an ID Confirmation Statement, or alternatively, a provisional ballot will be offered to you. You have until noon on the following Friday to complete the ID Confirmation Statement.
Securing your vote early is a convenient way to make sure your voice is heard in this crucial election. Let's take this opportunity to shape the future of Virginia.
