Although the summer season is just now wrapping up, we are already working to plan 2024's programs and events! We have many great annual events such as Gold Rush Days, but we like to keep things fresh with new ideas and offerings.
I would appreciate you filling out this short form [ [link removed] ] if you attended any programs this year - and/or have ideas for what we can do next year!
District Manager Kyle Bernis and I were recently on former Florida State Park Director Donald Forgione's podcast, Tailgate Talks. Listen wherever you listen to podcasts - here is the link [ [link removed] ] to his website for our episodes "Ferrets Unleashed" and "Bridging the Gap". Learn more about our cute ambassador animals and the work we do to invite underrepresented groups into parks.

Viva la Igualdad, hosted by Equality State Policy Center, was a hit! We set up in Rock Springs, ferrets in tow, to talk about what all we do as Wyoming State Parks and invite people out to our sites.

What's happening at Sinks Canyon:
The Sunnyside trail is designed as a beginner/intermediate non-motorized multi-use trail providing crucial access from the Rise up to the Climber's parking area.
This approximately 2-mile natural surface trail is designed to maintain a 4% (beginner) grade and 36-inch width and parallel the highway to provide locals and visitors with safe, accessible travel between existing assets in the park. The goal is to preserve as much habitat as possible while achieving a natural experience for trail users. This trail has been developed in collaboration with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, Sinks Canyon State Park, and the Lander Cycling Club.
Find out more and register your public comment here [ [link removed] ]. We will hold three in person public meetings:
Sept. 28th 8:00-10:00 Lander Bake Shop
Oct. 11th 9:00-11:00 Lincoln Street Bakery
Oct. 23rd 6:00 Lander Library

sunnyside It's getting to be that time... let's talk about bats! On October 14th, join us for a variety of programming at Bear River State Park. The annual solar eclipse will be visible in the 10:15-11:00 range. We will then be teaming up with The Biodiversity Institute to present bat programming from 11:00-3:00! This is all free and open to the public. At 2:00 we will have a bat box making session! The supplies are all provided by Stihl through out #WingsOverWyoming [ [link removed]*NK-y-R ] project. We are asking for your help and creativity in making these boxes to put up around the park to create bat habitat. Reservations are required for this: [link removed] [ [link removed] ]

The Fort Bridger Historical Association offers a unique opportunity for guests in October; visit the Fort after hours to learn history through ghost tales! Many supernatural stories have come from the site over its long and varied history, so come to the site to go with a guide through the buildings and hear the stories and how they fit into the Fort's history. The cost is $10. We will be offering an accessible tour at 7:00 each of the four nights. Please contact
[email protected] to set up an accessible tour so that we can ensure your needs are met. Pre-registration is required and will be available on Fort Bridger Historical Association's facebook page.

What Ranger Angelina is most excited for - pixel art
We are traveling to Dallas in October to be recognized as one of four finalists for Gold Medal Parks through the National Recreation and Park Association!
This week was my fifth anniversary as a park ranger and next week marks two years with Wyoming State Parks. Pictured here is one of my favorite days of those two years - visiting the National Black-footed Ferret Conservation Center.
Thanks for letting me be a Wyomingite and deliver programming to improve communities and enrich lives!
