In 2012, my son Jordan was shot and killed by a man at a gas station who complained about the “loud music” he and his friends were playing.

Like so many other parents who have lost children to gun violence, my life was forever changed on that day. It shattered every dream I had about watching my son grow up, become an adult, and maybe one day even have kids of his own.

Over 100 Americans die every day from gun violence. My mission to prevent other moms from going through this nightmare led me to a career in activism, and eventually to Congress.

Helping President Biden launch a new federal Office of Gun Violence Prevention has meant so much to our movement. Please sign my letter thanking him for taking this historic action in the fight against gun violence. [[link removed]]
