It’s been ten days since the devastating flooding in Libya that left approximately 888,000 people in need of humanitarian assistance and resulted in more than 5,000 deaths.

Among those requiring humanitarian assistance, up to 230,000 are women and girls of reproductive age, with 24,000 in need of essential sexual and reproductive health services.

UNFPA has already distributed 80 Mama Kits (hygiene kits for women giving birth and their newborns) and 1,000 Dignity Kits across the most affected regions as an initial rapid response. But needs are growing by the day as recovery efforts continue.

This is where you come in: Your gifts provide more humanitarian aid to women, girls, and survivors who are on the move, displaced in temporary shelters, and deprived of basic necessities.

While UNFPA is on the ground, working closely with local authorities, it's evident that more relief efforts are required. Over 2,600 pregnant women are expected to give birth in the next month, and the few remaining healthcare facilities lack doctors, medicines, and fuel for their generators.

These women who are expected to give birth are not only fighting for their own lives but also for the lives of their newborns, who are about to enter the world deprived of basic needs. During unimaginable crisis, your gifts will help:
