Team,

We’d like to honor Hispanic Heritage Month by highlighting Latina and Latino trailblazers in the fight for justice on all fronts – labor, environmental protection, and immigration, to name a few.

This week, we’re spotlighting Guatemalan-American labor activist Luisa Moreno.

After a short career in journalism, Moreno moved to New York, where she became an organizer with the American Federation of Labor.

Her work advocating for workers in the food and tobacco industry across the country led her to pioneer the El Congreso del Pueblo de Habla Española, or the National Congress of Spanish-Speaking Peoples. Through this foundation, she led a movement to unify the Latino community in the US and set a powerful precedent for the labor movements that transformed US labor.

Today and every day, we follow the example of labor champions like Luisa Moreno to guide our fight to ensure fair and equitable pay for workers of all industries.

Linda represents California’s 38th Congressional District. As the chair of BOLD PAC, Linda will be a key player in electing Latino progressives up and down the ballot in 2024. This movement is only possible with a strong grassroots network. Will you donate $1 to Linda’s campaign to multiply her impact?
