Today, we commend the Biden-Harris Administration for taking a monumental step towards addressing gun violence in our nation. President Biden's creation of a dedicated White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention is a pivotal moment in our fight to make our communities safer.
Gregory Jackson Jr., our Executive Director, has been selected to join the Biden-Harris Administration and join this critical initiative as Deputy Director. His unwavering dedication to community-based solutions and his extensive experience in gun violence policy make him the ideal choice to champion this cause.
As we begin the search for an interim director, Amber Goodwin, Senior Advisor and Founder, and Anthony Smith, Board Chair, will assume day-to-day leadership responsibilities. Together, they will guide our organization through this transition and ensure our mission continues.
Our team, spanning California, Illinois, Texas, Virginia, North Carolina, Louisiana, and Washington, DC, remains steadfast in our commitment to reducing gun violence. We've been at the forefront of policy and advocacy, working tirelessly to empower communities and effect change.
We are grateful for the support of our dedicated Board of Directors and funders as we embark on this new phase of our journey. Together, we'll continue to make strides in the fight against gun violence and create safer communities for all.
