Wes Moore for Maryland

Hey John,

You may know me best as Maryland’s 63rd governor. I’m also a combat veteran, author, former CEO of one of the nation’s largest anti-poverty organizations, and a Rhodes Scholar.

But by far the most important roles I hold are husband to my First and forever Lady Dawn, and dad to Mia and James.

Seeing my mom raise our family on her own after my dad’s passing, and now raising Mia and James here with Dawn, I know first-hand just how hard families in this state work to get by — and that’s the reason I decided to run for Governor in the first place.

In our last eight months in office, I’m proud to say we’ve shown that Maryland can do big things for families in our state.

→ We’ve passed the Fair Wage Act, raising the minimum wage and creating an economic cushion for over 150,000 Maryland families.
→ We created programs to end child poverty that will lift over 37,000 Maryland children to the next rung of the economic ladder.
→ We signed gun safety laws to protect our communities from gun violence.
→ We’ve created a first-in-the-country program offering a paid year of service for high school graduates, to empower and give purpose to the next generation.

And of course, no matter how hard our administration works, I’m never too busy to play football in the front yard of Government House with my kids and share family dinners on Saturday nights.

That’s because in our home in the Government House, and across the state of Maryland, family is everything. Family is the reason we get up in the morning, overcome tough challenges, and work together to build the state our children deserve.

If you’re ready to join the fight for a stronger Maryland, add a contribution today to support our efforts. With your support, I can keep working to lighten burdens and create opportunities for all Marylanders and their families.
