Food & Water Action works every day to protect food, safeguard water, and preserve our climate. These issues are not mutually exclusive; fighting for a livable climate profoundly affects how we grow and raise our food. Every dollar donated to Food & Water Action is put to work fighting for safe food, banning factory farms, and pushing for legislation that will transition our food system to one that works for farmers and consumers.

John,
A sustainable food system is one that provides a good living for small- and mid-sized independent farmers and ensures safe, healthy and affordable food for everyone. It's good for our shared environment and climate.
But decades of misguided farm policy have driven reality further and further from that vision.
Polluting factory farms dominate our rural landscapes, and a few mega-corporations control our food system. As a result, families, farmers, and communities are struggling. And all of this is compounded by an ever-changing climate with record heat, droughts, and storms.
That’s why we're fighting for a Fair Farm Bill to support independent farmers, break up corporate consolidation, incentivize sustainable farming, and ensure a livable climate future.
When you donate to Food & Water Action, you support our work for safe food and a livable climate. Every dollar you give will be used to move us toward a sustainable food system that works for families and farmers.

FIGHT FOR SAFE FOOD

Big Ag spends hundreds of millions of dollars lobbying each year for the status quo – policies that prop up their corporate interests at the expense of small, independent family-scale farms. That isn’t sustainable.
The Farm Bill is a massive funding bill passed by Congress every five years. It’s an opportunity to create both a fair marketplace and the kind of agriculture we want to see.
We are advocating for a Fair Farm Bill that:
- Bans factory farms and supports a transition to sustainable family-scale farms
- Halts agribusiness mergers and breaks up mega-corporations that price gouge consumers at the grocery store
- Restores supply management policies and price safety nets for farmers
- Expands coverage for more crops that directly feed people
- Boosts funding for climate-resilient agricultural seeds, breeds, and techniques
- Builds and supports the infrastructure to connect farmers to local processors and consumers, not Wall Street
Support our work with a gift to Food & Water Action to fight for a fair Farm Bill for farmers, families, and consumers.

Together, we can rebuild a food system that promotes environmental stewardship, provides living wages to farmers and food workers, and ensures access to fresh and healthy food for all.
